Frankfurt Painting Academy – Art Made by You
A place to rest and to express oneself through art is the central theme of the Frankfurt Painting Academy art project, which first opened its studio doors in 1984 to the public. Since 1999 the studios have been open regularly. In a modern world that reduces people to their bare functions, without ever considering that they are beings with spiritual, creative and emotional needs, the Frankfurt Painting Academy aims to restore an artistic and spiritual dimension. The “Coloria” open studios offer neighbours, passers-by and people who are interested the possibility to explore actively and without fear the art of painting, enabling them to rediscover their own needs and emotions. Even young children nowadays show a lack of social skills and consideration. To feel oneself again, via the medium of art, brings back forgotten emotions and reveals what is universal in all of us, irrespective of our social and financial status.
